According to researchers, this significantly improved the physical properties of latex. It also improved the thickness of latex -- meaning that condoms will also be safer and less prone to breaking.  "The great thing about nanocellulose is that it's a flexible nano-additive," said Darren Martin, who worked on the project. "We can make a stronger and thinner membrane that is both supple and flexible -- the holy grail for natural rubber ."
